Where do I find my Max 5 or 6 serial numbers, if I want to upgrade to Max 8?
Your serial number was emailed to you if you purchased Max 5 or 6 directly from Cycling '74. If you cannot find it, e-mail your full name and any alternate email address you may have used for your purchase to support@cycling74.com.

No. All are independent applications and can be installed on one machine without trouble. If you do have more than one version of Max installed on your machine, please remember to rename the different versions of the application.
Will my old patches work in Max 8?
Yes, as long as there are no 32-bit externals in use. Max 8 is only 64-bit.
Will my third party externals need to be updated?
Because Max 8 is only 64-bit, 32-bit externals will not work in Max 8. However, other objects that are compatible with Max 7 are compatible with Max 8.
Does the Max for Live Editor work with Max 8?
Yes, however, the Max for Live Editor is different from a full version of Max 8. If you are a Max for Live user, we invite you to try the Max 8 demo for 30 days. There is a discount for owners of Max for Live available if you choose to purchase a full version of Max.
Will Gen also work within Max for Live?
Yes. However, to edit Gen patchers in Max for Live, you must own Max 8. We have a discount on the full version of Max 8 available for owners of Max for Live.
